This study investigates the types of syntactic traces in Kurdish within the framework of Government and Binding Theory. The primary aim is to analyze syntactic structures in which elements such as subjects, objects, and wh-phrases are displaced, leaving behind syntactic traces. The data are drawn from naturally occurring Kurdish sentences and analyzed through X-bar tree diagrams. The results indicate that Kurdish is a pro-drop language and systematically employs trace types such as NP-trace, Wh-trace, and PRO. These patterns reflect the compatibility of Kurdish with universal principles of the GB framework. The study further emphasizes the parametric properties of Kurdish, particularly regarding subject omission and movement of interrogative elements. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of Kurdish syntax and can inform language teaching and analysis.
