Human and Animal Research Ethics
- Authors conducting research involving human or animal subjects are responsible for ensuring that their work does not pose any harm, risk, or threat to the subjects and must obtain approval from the relevant institutional ethical committee.
- Research involving both human and animal subjects must confirm that all procedures adhere to ethical standards and comply with legal requirements.
- For research involving human participants, the corresponding author must provide a statement from a research committee verifying that informed consent was obtained from all the participants.
- For research involving and presenting human images (participant or patient), their identities must be concealed. The corresponding author must also confirm and declare that informed consent was obtained from the involved individual(s).
- For studies involving animals, it is crucial to obtain proper ethical approval in compliance with national and/or international laws and regulations.
- Consent, permission, and approval must be obtained before conducting the research.
- Research involving animals must be conducted in accordance with the consensus ethics and/or established ethical guidelines governing the use of these animals in scientific work.
- In the methods section of their manuscript, authors must include an ethics statement detailing the approval process.
- ZJHS strongly encourages the use of standard procedures and the reduction of the number of animals used in research.
