Social Shyness among First Year Students of Koya University in the Morning according to some Demographic Variables for the Academic Year (2023-2024)

The aim of this study is to reveal the level of social shyness among the sample in general, to find differences in the level of social shyness according to some groups Demographics such as (monthly household income, birth order, faculty), the research method is descriptive comparative survey data collection tools (Sulaiman, 2020). The study population consisted of (598) first year students in Koya University. The sample of the study was (150). Students in the first grade who are selected in an equal gender hierarchy, which is (% 25) The research community participated in the study. Statistical techniques (mean, standard deviation (SD), independent sample test, a nova, normality test, outlier) were used، the result show that the sample had a low level of shyness that fell between the options (occasionally-often However, there is statistically significant difference between social shyness and other demographics, social shyness is higher among students with a monthly income of less than 500,000 dinars compared to 1,000,000 and more than 1,000,000 dinars. Social shyness is higher among firstborn children than middle and last children and the Faculty of Education, in the light of the results, Researcher presented several recommendations and suggestions.
