We are excited to introduce the inaugural issue of Mamosta Journal for Pedagogical Sciences and Teacher Education (MamostaJ)—a new space for meaningful conversations about teaching ,learning and teacher education. At a time when education plays such a crucial role in shaping our communities and future, we felt it was important to create a platform where educators and researchers could share their insights and experiences.

What makes this journal special is the diversity of voices it brings together. Our contributors for this issue come from universities and educational institutions across Baghdad, Duhok, Zakho, and Erbil, each offering unique perspectives on the challenges and opportunities we face in education today. This geographic and institutional diversity enriches our understanding of what works in different contexts.

The articles in this first issue tackle real questions that matter to educators: How can we improve teacher preparation programs? What teaching methods actually make a difference for students? How do we bridge the gap between educational theory and classroom practice? Our authors do not just identify problems—they offer practical solutions and fresh approaches that other educators can adapt and use.

One thing we have learned is that good ideas do not respect borders. When teachers from different regions share what they have discovered, everyone benefits. That is  the spirit we want MamostaJ to embody—a place where collaboration happens naturally and where we learn from each other's successes and setbacks.

This journal wouldn't exist without the hard work of our authors, reviewers, and editorial board members. They have  poured their expertise and time into making this vision a reality. But more than that, we hope this becomes a conversation starter. We want researchers to build on these ideas, practitioners to test them in their own classrooms, and policymakers to consider how they might support these innovations.

Education has the power to change lives, but only when we are  willing to keep questioning, experimenting, and improving. Through honest scholarship and open dialogue, we can work toward schools and universities that truly serve every student.

Welcome to Mamosta Journal for Pedagogical Sciences and Teacher Education. We hope this first issue sparks new ideas and conversations that make a real difference in classrooms across our region and beyond.

A New Horizon for Pedagogical Excellence: Launching Mamosta Journal

It is with immense pride and a profound sense of responsibility that we present the inaugural issue(1) of Mamosta Journal for Pedagogical Sciences and Teacher Education. Born out of a critical need to bridge theory and practice in contemporary education, this journal aims to serve as a vibrant platform for educators, researchers, and policymakers dedicated to transforming the educational landscape.

The title Mamosta—meaning "teacher" or "scholar"—is a deliberate tribute to the individuals who stand at the heart of every educational system. Teacher education is not merely a technical preparation; it is a transformative process that shapes the future of societies. As global educational paradigms shift toward more inclusive, digital, and student-centered methodologies, the need for localized, high-quality, peer-reviewed research has never been more urgent.

Our first issue embodies this spirit of inclusivity and global dialogue, featuring twelve groundbreaking papers published across three languages: Kurdish, Arabic, and English. This trilingual approach reflects our commitment to honoring regional educational contexts while simultaneously engaging with international academic discourse. The diverse studies within this issue explore critical themes, including innovative teaching methodologies, challenges in teacher professional development, educational psychology, and the integration of technology in the modern classroom.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the authors who trusted us with their scholarship for this maiden voyage, and to our dedicated editorial board and peer reviewers whose  high standards ensured the high quality of these selected works.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look firmly toward the future. Mamosta Journal invites researchers, scholars, and practicing educators from around the globe to contribute to our upcoming issues.

We welcome the submission of original research articles, comprehensive review papers, and insightful case studies in the fields of pedagogical sciences, teacher training, curriculum development, and educational leadership. Submissions are accepted year-round in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

Join us in shaping the future of education. Share your insights, elevate your research, and contribute to a growing community of practice.

Authors can find detailed information on manuscript formatting, open-access policies, and the online submission portal on our official journal website.

Together, let us advance the science of teaching and empower the educators of tomorrow.
